Rubber Bellows for Vibration Control in a High-Rise HVAC Plantroom

Challenge:

A high-rise commercial tower in Dubai faced noise and vibration complaints from tenants due to mechanical vibrations traveling from the HVAC plantroom to upper floors. The existing rigid pipework offered no flexibility, and the building management required a retrofit solution without structural modifications or system shutdown.

Solution Provided:

FlexiBel supplied single-arch rubber bellows with control rods and EPDM construction, rated for chilled water service. The bellows were installed between pump discharge and main headers to isolate mechanical vibration and absorb minor piping misalignment. The solution allowed bolt-on replacement during low-load hours without full system shutdown.
