U Type
Highly flexible, multi-layer fabric expansion joints designed for low-pressure, high-temperature gas applications. Manufactured in any size or shape, they are the preferred solution for ducts and channels carrying clean air, flue gases, or aggressive media.
Enquire NowFlexibel fabric expansion joints are engineered using advanced textile composites, often reinforced with insulation layers and protective coatings. Unlike metallic bellows, fabric joints handle very large thermal movements, vibrations, and misalignments with minimal reaction forces. They can be supplied as complete units with steel frames, insulation pillows, and sealing layers, ready for installation. Replacement of spare fabrics for existing joints is also available.
Size Range (DN)
No standard limits – up to 20,000 mm
Materials
Multi-layer technical fabrics (glass fibre, PTFE, silicone, elastomers, insulation pads, protective covers)
Construction
Layered fabric composite with optional steel frames and insulation pillows
Pressure Rating
Up to 0.5 bar (50 kPa)
Temperature Range
Up to 1100°C (depending on media & fabric type)
Movements
Large Axial, Lateral & Angular deflections

Typical use case: Extensively used in ducting and flue gas systems where piping flexibility cannot be achieved with metallic expansion joints, particularly in high-temperature, low-pressure service.
Other applications include:
bolted or welded duct connections
Insulation Pillowsprotect fabric from hot gas streams
Protective LayersPTFE, silicone, or elastomer covers for chemical and weather resistance
Sealing Layersmultiple fabric plies for gas-tight construction
