The Metallic Pressure Balanced Expansion Joint uses a system of tie rods connected to balancing bellows that counteract the pressure thrust generated by the main bellows. This allows the joint to absorb axial and lateral movements without transferring pressure loads to the fixed points. Elbow-type designs are typically used for directional changes in piping, while in-line types are installed where the flow direction remains straight. These joints are essential in large-diameter or high-pressure piping systems where anchor loads must be minimized.
